Born May 4 in Surulere, Lagos Nigeria, Mfon - the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Umana, from Local Government NSiT Ubium (Akwa Ibom State) in Nigeria - is the sixth of nine children of his parents ( seven girls and two boys).

MFON sings in the two major global languages: English and French. She also sings in her native dialects, Efik and Ibibio as well as in Yoruba, Fon and Ewe (dialects of Benin Republic). The lyrics of her songs mostly dwell on the Almighty, life, love, peace, harmony and integrity. Her vocal prowess is not only melodious, alluring and inviting but also refreshingly powerful and infectious. Her style of music is Folk, Jazz, and Soul that is constantly blended with African rhythms. The fusion of African musical instruments in her songs promotes her African roots.

 

Mfon is a songwriter, composer, rhythm guitarist and music producer. Her ability to sing in English and French, sometimes combining both Languages in a song, gives her a worldwide audience and distinguishes her. Her songs cut across all ages and cultures.
