Born of a French father and Cameroonian mother, Clarisse Albrecht shared his childhood in Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and France. She spent her early years Bafatá, a small city in Guinea-Bissau, then some time in France and then to return to Africa, to Maputo, capital of Mozambique.

Biographie

From her childhood, she kept a taste for travel and a certain attachment to the Portuguese language. This language reflects the nostalgia so it is inhabited. Quite naturally, she began to study the Brazilian standards. MPB, Bossa, Samba. In the idea of taking these classics on stage, she immersed herself in this culture. Soaked in the music of "saudade", so connected to his memories of Maputo. But it is time to realize another of his greatest dreams: to go to Rio De Janeiro. During her trip, she soaked up the atmosphere, the sounds, the soul of Rio ... This city brings much more than she had imagined. As if she found herself a bit there, as if this city was a synthesis of what it is. Africa, with so many other Western influences.

During a quiet evening at Item 6 of the Copacabana beach, a friend wrote him a poem. A poem saying that when she smiles with his whole heart and with all her soul, she becomes more than mestizo. It becomes a "mulata universal", a mestizo universal. It was a revelation. That's the way it should follow: to translate musically its cultural mix. Back in Paris, she focuses on developing his own music. She writes, composes, Portuguese, English. And even if it should keep away from the scene, becoming a songwriter is an accomplishment.

With the help of a longtime friend, producer and composer, she recorded her first songs. Songs to texts of "saudade", reflecting the stigma of its past, its roots, its many influences, his feelings, his Bohemian lifestyle.

"Through my music I want to share a mood, a mood, a mood ..." In a soft voice, sometimes fragile, Clarisse invites us into his world and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Welcome to the Universal Mulata.
