Sheikh Abdoulaye N'Diaye said Bakhân its traditional name (pronounced Barran and means "goodness"), was born in Rosso in southern Mauritania in 1981. He comes from a family Mauritanian mixed, combining the four ethnic groups in China: the Wolof, the Moors, the Fulani and Soninke. This mixing explains the artistic choices Sheikh, including its willingness to support the Mauritanian culture across all its components. Sheikh composes and sings in Wolof, and Poular Hassanya (Mauritanian Arabic). Historically, his dream is to succeed in creating a modern Mauritanian music transcends ethnic and musical boundaries. He claims his style as an inspiration and a fusion of different musical riches of Mauritania, but also elsewhere.
In 2003, Sheik recorded "Nebkhi Mauritania (Mauritania Like) duet with rapper Papis Kimmi, hit album that will be sold throughout the country.
Also in 2003 he began a new musical adventure in creating the group Mbeuguel Africa (Love Africa). A production not marketed entitled Talibé (Children of the street) is then performed. All titles are written by Sheikh. Mbeuguel Africa plays regularly in Nouakchott and in particular in the first part of Baba Maal. The group also participates in the first festival in 2005 Music Mobile. This is where Cheikh Maalouma crosses for the first time. This meeting allows him to hope for future musical projects with this particular artist he respects.
In 2005, only 24 years, Sheikh is the musical director of the project "Darna TV" in Nouakchott, whose goal is awareness and awareness of Muslim women through music. He made several compositions around topics such as literacy and HIV / AIDS and to do so leads a team of fifteen musicians and singers. In 2006, Sheikh joined the Ecole Nationale des Arts de Dakar (ENA). It follows two years during the course of the Department of Performing Arts. He started playing the piano and perfected on guitar and djembe. It also gave him an opportunity to meet professionals of the music in Senegal.
His thirst for discovery and encounters bring Sheikh to join the Central Africa in July 2008 and stopped in N'Djamena, Chad. In early April, Bakhân decided to return to Nouakchott to record a demo.
The project "N'Daysan"
N'daysan is the name given to this album. N'daysan is impossible to translate in one word: it is the testimony of a strong emotion, happy or sad, to someone. That, in short, listening and solidarity, pains, joys, sharing emotions, including those obtained through the music.
In November 2009, Bakhan is selected from among three finalists for the 2009 and RFI Discoveries occurs in Lome, Togo, at the final concert.
