AKEÏKOI group was founded in 2000 as a group originally called "From AKEÏKOI Connection," connection of two groups: Caline Georgette and Yelemba Abidjan. This training is based on the meeting between the brothers Liven, originating in the "From", area located between Nantes and Angers and Lassina Coulibaly, whose headquarters is located in "Akeïkoi" in the suburbs of Abidjan.
Rock band speed and funk, Caline Georgette has marked those who saw him on stage by his tone, his rage and originality. Caline Georgette is more than 4000 concerts between 1992 and 1995 in Europe or France, with a very noticeable benefit to the Printemps de Bourges in 1993. It is in the district of Abidjan "Akeïkoi" that Lassina Coulibaly, versatile artist original Senufo and initiated by his teachers, moved to form the troupe Yelemba in 1995, with the help of the association Nantes Planet tam-tam. Between tradition and modernity, and revisits the works Yelemba large repertoire of ethnic Côte d'Ivoire. Musicians, dancers, singers, actors and exceptional, these artists present their complete performances in Europe and internationally. Five of these musicians (Ivory Coast, Guinea and Burkina Faso) led by Chief Harouna Dembélé drummer of the band, explore new avenues within Akeïkoi, bringing their traditional songs and rhythms (in Senoufou, Dyula), drums with skins tense and other balafon and sacred instruments rarely heard in the world, such as boloyes. After several years of mutual discovery and adaptation among members of the musical collective's debut album Akeïkoi "Binkafô" released in 2002 under Off-label standards Productions, followed by a national tour in 2003 and 2004.
